INTC 36k gains, boss saved me from selling it 5 days ago!

2026-05-20T18:47:13+00:00

You may recall I had posted 5 days ago that I am selling all my INTC and getting out. Well just as I pressed the post button I got a call from my boss about an urgent situation. Spent the whole day trying to fix that and ended up forgetting about closing my INTC. Just got a notification that my INTC position is up 5% today and I realized that I never closed my position. Wow my boss saved me from making regarded moves! Taking her to lunch at a nice place on Friday, but not going to tell her what happened. https://preview.redd.it/ulmj2wdp8c2h1.png?width=1416&format=png&auto=webp&s=722f51dd2953c287e1ce98f19d364cbcb3a9a5a5 submitted by /u/FuckingJPMAlgos [link] [comments]

I Backtested 58 Intel Insider Buys Since 2019. The Results Were Interesting

2026-05-19T08:07:13+00:00

So I've spent a stupid amount of time digging through SEC Edgar filings and backtesting insider transactions against actual price outcomes. Let me share what the data says specifically about Intel ($INTC), because the numbers are genuinely interesting, not in a Reddit hype way, but in a "this is statistically weird and probably worth understanding" way. The Setup Between 2019 and early 2026, Intel executives and directors made 58 open-market purchases of their own stock, meaning they used personal cash, not options, not grants. Just bought shares like anyone else would. When that happens, what does the stock do? Day 1 median return: +0.63% Day 3 median return: +1.53% Day 5 median return: +2.59% Day 20 median return: +2.16% That last number is what I find most interesting. The drift doesn't continue forever, it actually fades slightly after Day 5. So, whatever signal insider buying creates, it plays out fast. You're looking at a roughly 5-day edge, then the market absorbs it and moves on. The 5-day win rate across all 58 cases: 69% . For a large-cap stock, that's a statistically notable number. It's not 90%. It's not a magic formula. But 69% is meaningfully above coin-flip territory. What Happens When Insiders Buy Into a Falling Stock This is where it gets more interesting. Of those 58 buys, 27 happened when Intel had already dropped more than 2% in the 5 days before the filing. The executive bought into weakness, not strength. In those specific cases, the 5-day median return expanded to +3.27%. an extra 0.68% over the baseline. The interpretation isn't complicated: when someone with deep knowledge of the business buys the dip with their own money, it's a stronger signal than buying into a flat or rising tape. The "floor" behavior is more pronounced. Real Examples From the Data (Both Wins and Losses) January 26, 2026: Intel's CFO David Zinsner bought ~$250k worth of shares at $42.50. The stock returned +12.1% over the next 5 days. Huge. Clean signal. August 5, 2024: CEO Pat Gelsinger made two separate purchases on the same day ($152k and $99k). Cluster buys from a CEO tend to carry more conviction than a single order. 5-day return: +4.89%. May 1, 2024 and April 29, 2024: Also Gelsinger buys. Stock drifted slightly negative (~-0.8%). These are the failures that make the 69% realistic. Any backtest that doesn't include the losses is selling you something. Why Most People Ignore This Data The main reason is that it's annoying to collect. SEC EDGAR filings aren't cleanly structured, the dates don't always align cleanly with trading days, and you have to manually filter out option exercises, gift transfers, and 10b5-1 plan purchases from genuine open-market buys. The noise is high. When you do filter it properly and align it with actual OHLC data, though, you get a surprisingly coherent picture, at least for a stock like Intel, where insider transactions are frequent enough to build a meaningful sample. This is one ticker, and 58 data points isn't a massive sample. I'm not saying this works universally or that it's some edge case Wall Street is sleeping on. Smart money already watches this, the question is whether retail traders have the same quality of signal or are always reacting a few days late. Curious if anyone else has done similar backtesting on insider filings for other large-caps, or if there's a sector where this signal tends to be stronger or weaker. Energy and semiconductors seem like obvious candidates to me, but I haven't gone deep on them yet. And honestly, if a system existed that tracked this automatically, surfaced the weak vs. strong setups, and delivered the historical context upfront instead of requiring you to dig for it yourself, would that be something you'd actually want to use? Seems like a gap that's always existed but has never been filled well for regular investors. submitted by /u/Aware_Selection_7563 [link] [comments]

INTC 15:1 LEVERAGE POSITION CLOSED, TRADED SPY 0DTE $5K --> $22.4K

2026-05-18T19:22:09+00:00

https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/1texhaz/so_uhh_when_do_i_get_the_forbidden_phone_margin/ UPDATE from my post a few days ago. I was somehow able to hold almost $160k worth of Intel stock with an account worth $10k. I was able to do this by leveraging LEAPS OTM and reinvesting that premium into intel, buying 100 shares, then selling a leap, so on and so forth until I was capped out at 1250 shares, sufficiently leveraged for my personal risk tolerance. I pretty much decided to unwind this position this morning for a massive, massive loss. But little did I know, Schwab will allow you to buy back your covered calls on margin, assuming that you sell your shares by EOD. So I did the fist step, but not the second, and left 1250 shares of Intel uncovered. I lost about half the and hit $5k. In the depth of my despair, I decided to do the tried and true 0DTE SPY crack cocaine/fent method. Essentially, today I was able to time the GOD CANDLE at 3:00, and made some smaller trades before then. I now have $22k in my portfolio up from $5k at 10am this morning. TLDR: abused Schwab to get insane leverage, did not pick up the phone when they called me 3 times, turned my remaining 5k ---> 22.4K on a series of 5 0DTE trades. ps. fuck that stupid bird, shit on me next time..see what happens. submitted by /u/DeltaVx_ [link] [comments]

Sell some Intel to take a larger position in SLS? I’m OKAY with the greed, but I’m not sure my logic is sound.

2026-05-16T16:16:29+00:00

Greed, fear. I’m commenting to receive advice and listen to opinions. Info: 400 shares of Intel left after buying in at $22, sold enough already to cover my original cost plus 10% Was going to let it ride, but I have a GREED idea. I have 2,200 shares of SLS cost basis $6.25 The idea sell 100 shares of Intel Monday, use those funds to buy another 1000 shares of SLS. Pertinent info: Both stocks held in nontaxable Roth and SEP IRA accounts. I’m 58, don’t “need” the money. While I speculate a major recession and corresponding market drop, obviously I could be wrong and if it happens don’t know when. The majority of my retirement funds are in a TSP, about as safe as market funds can get. I’m not buying more bonds, than what the TSP holds. What do ya’ll think? Sell some INTEl and double down on SLS? Edit: quick math, if I sold 100shares of Intel at $80 per share, priofit=$8000, so 1000 SLS shares at $7 would need to trade between $15 and $20 to earn back the $8000(as profit)….so maybe this is not the best idea- as I have no idea, even IF the 3rd trial is positive, for an SLS future price. $12 at the low end? beyond $30 seems to be in the outlier territory. Different path: Sell the Intel and SLS and take my $40,000 profit, dump it in VOO Thanks in advance for taking your valuable time to read this far and for any feedback. submitted by /u/dogboneit [link] [comments]

Trump left Beijing with no deal, just "fantastic" conversations... and the market punished tech immediately!

2026-05-16T01:38:03+00:00

Trump flew home from Beijing. No trade framework. No Taiwan agreement. His words: "fantastic conversations." $INTC dropped 6%. $AMD lost 5.7%. $MU fell 6.6%. $NVDA shed 4.4%. The S&P closed down 1.24%, Nasdaq down 1.54%. The summit produced zero binding commitments, and the market knew this was a possibility going in. Yet we ran the S&P to 7,500 and the Dow to 50,000 anyway. $CBRS IPO'd Thursday, opened at $350, closed at $311, then shed another 10% Friday. That's the whole story in one stock. Pure sentiment, zero fundamentals like GetClaw predicted so im not suprised. At what point do we admit that macro traders are just playing a news ticker and not actual data? submitted by /u/SuccessOdd382 [link] [comments]

Crossing $3M with only Intel

2026-05-12T11:01:20+00:00

2 years ago i put in $700k into Intel at a 30 dollar avg. I wont lie and say it was an easy hold, especially with all that money being money i inherited from my late grandma. I was in school at the time, although i've already set aside $100k into a high yield savings account it was $700k into one stock and you can imagine any what any sane family would say. Things took a nasty turn shortly after i made the investment, INTC went to $20 and i lost more than $200k on paper. The relationship with my family grew shaky at the time, the nasty reddit comments and dms kept coming and never stopped as the stock kept sliding below my avg. All my life ive been a pretty positive guy , but this whole debacle threw me into almost a year of darkness, i deleted the old reddit account not long after. Enough of that now. Times like these maybe a post like that would save someone's life or future. Life isnt over when your portfolio takes a dump all while not a single person believes in you. Life also isnt over when youre up generational wealth. Profits are not profits until realized, lives arent changed until then. As for me , im doing well and dont desperately need the money atm and will probably hold for a little longer here before i begin the first trim as i truly think there is still a good amount of upside. Ultimately i would still keep at least 30% of the shares i have now for a decade or more. Thanks Grandma. submitted by /u/SadNefariousness10 [link] [comments]

I Backtested 58 Intel Insider Buys Since 2019. The Results Were Interesting

Bought roughly $1800 of INTC 10 months ago

2026-05-11T22:55:45+00:00

Was watching TV last July, US President says “Government gets equity”. Somewhat regarded autist thinks “house always wins” and buys a small amount of stock. (Not completely regarded as to be joining yall at the options casino however.) I also bought 5 shares two weeks ago at 93 - might be regarded but eff it. I wanna pull my original amount so badly lmao. But as I am a somewhat regarded autist, I also wanna say “diamond hands” and ride that coaster to the moon or to the poor house. submitted by /u/AllAboutTheXeons [link] [comments]

I posted my Intel gains before, but I set out with the goal of turning my initial 20k Intel investment into 50k. I now have 52k in stock and 130k in mostly in the money options. 2 years ago, my account hit 99k and tanked, and I’ve had the goal to hit 100k ever since. I never imagined I’d hit 200k a week and a half after 100k. submitted by /u/slc97 [link] [comments]

Intel (INTC) Stock Rockets 14% After Apple Partnership and SK Hynix Negotiations Surface

2026-05-11T14:23:51+00:00

https://blockonomi.com/intel-intc-stock-rockets-14-after-apple-partnership-and-sk-hynix-negotiations-surface/ Intel shares jumped approximately 14% on Friday, followed by an additional 6% gain in premarket trading Monday, reaching $130.13. A preliminary chip manufacturing agreement between Apple and Intel was reached, with support from the U.S. government playing a facilitating role. Separate reports indicate Intel is negotiating with SK Hynix regarding chip-packaging solutions, which could establish a second major foundry partnership. Following the conversion of $9 billion in federal grants to equity, the U.S. government now owns approximately 10% of Intel. First-quarter results significantly exceeded projections adjusted EPS reached $0.29 compared to the $0.01 estimate, while revenue totaled $13.58B against a $12.42B forecast. submitted by /u/self-fix2 [link] [comments]

Intel & SK Hynix collaborate on EMIB Packaging

2026-05-11T09:54:52+00:00

“SK hynix is collaborating with Intel to utilize its Embedded Multi-die Interconnect Bridge (EMIB) 2.5D packaging technology for HBM memory. As SK hynix aims to diversify its supply chain and customers are increasingly considering Intel Foundry, the South Korean memory giant is exploring research and development efforts with Intel on 2.5D packaging technology. Intel's premier 2.5D packaging technology is its EMIB, which interconnects multiple silicon dies using bridges embedded in a packaging substrate. SK hynix is interested in integrating this technology into its HBM memory, presumably to bring its HBM4 memory modules up to standard for EMIB integration, should its AI chip partners choose Intel Foundry for advanced packaging of their next-generation solutions.” Source: https://www.techpowerup.com/348926/sk-hynix-eyes-intel-emib-2-5d-packaging-for-hbm-memory?amp submitted by /u/Dickasaurus_Rex_ [link] [comments]

INTC market manipulation

2026-05-10T09:10:57+00:00

How come nobody talks about the obvious market manipulation pulled off by WSJ? How else can you call a half baked report coming on a Friday, just 3 hours before market close when all options would’ve expired worthless? My second question is why did the stock climb so much on a news that was already priced in since Tuesday’s report from Bloomberg. This wasn’t even a confirmation or some other big improvement to the first news. It is basically the same news in other words. They don’t even know which Apple products would be using INTC chips. Is it due to the bots interpreting this as positive news? If so, seems like “the press” has the most power over the stock market in those times. 120$ Calls went from 0.3 to 7 in an instant. That’s like 20x in 3 hours. submitted by /u/therealoptimoose [link] [comments]

So if you missed the big Intel and AMD run, what’s your next move? What are you buying or are you holding?

2026-05-09T20:40:05+00:00

So if you missed the big Intel and AMD run, what’s your next move? What are you buying or holding? Last week was a wild run up of AMD, which I didn’t expect the stock results. Intel saw some positive movement. DRAM which has been getting mentioned quite a bit has been on a run. It seems as if a lot of the obvious plays are already to the moon. Is there more room to grow, or will we see a downturn? Economy is hit or mess depending on who you ask. Hot for AI, yet Whirlpool (WHR) says the are experiencing a recession level decline. Are you buying into strength? Waiting on the sidelines or rotating in a different sector all together. submitted by /u/acap0 [link] [comments]

$INTC owns Majority stake in $MBLY

2026-05-09T09:18:13+00:00

Elon Musk has been banging on the table about Robotics, Jensen Huang views robotics as the next massive growth Frontier after Ai, which will integrate into every industry. Jenson recent said "billions of robots, hundreds of millions of autonomous vehicles, and hundreds of thousands of robotic factories." "Everything that moves will be robotic someday, and it will be soon." Musk has repeatedly called Optimus (and humanoid robotics) potentially "the biggest product ever," bigger than Tesla's vehicle business. There’s one big player here right now thats not being discussed. $MBLY - Left for dead chip stock, current partnership and support from $INTC. Solely focused on Robotics, Humanoid Robotics and Autonomous Driving. Recently beat earnings, issued a share buyback and has sold over 200m chips. With the insane hype around $INTC this feels like a no brainer. submitted by /u/Stonkgang_ [link] [comments]

Intel Breaks Into America’s Top 15 Most Valuable Companies

2026-05-09T04:56:49+00:00

Intel is poised to break into the top 10 most valuable companies and join the coveted $1T club as the AI boom shows no signs of abating. During the recent Q1 earnings call, CEO Lip-Bu Tan highlighted that the ratio of GPU to CPU has gone from 1:8 to 1:4, and in some cases 1:1. This remarkable transition is largely attributed to the shift from model training to inference, catapulted by agentic AI. The CPU market’s total addressable market (TAM) is expected to be 120b-170b by 2030, based on estimates provided by AMD and UBS. ARM, whose main business was in the provision of CPU IPs - separate from the x86 IP of Intel and AMD - has now pivoted to design the ARM AGI CPU chip to capture a slice of the huge CPU TAM. Since last year in Mar 2025 when CEO Lip-Bu Tan took over the reigns at Intel, the company has undergone a massive transformation. Some of these changes included the reduction in middle management, a return to an engineering-centric culture, the hiring of key talents into senior management and industry experts working on the bleeding edge, deals with the US Government, Elon Musk’s Terafab and now Apple. The stock has moved from the low $20 to an all time high at $127, a parabolic move that has defied all expectations. Looking ahead, the race to pole position to unseat NVIDA is underway. But first, Intel will have to break into the $1T club where only 13 companies have achieved this vaunted status. Can Intel do it? It’s no longer a matter of if, but a question of when. submitted by /u/Quick_Cheesecake559 [link] [comments]

if u had to pick one INTC or AMD puts?

2026-05-09T02:46:29+00:00

currently debating between 8/21 expirations to play for a 10-20% pullback. Intel ran up harder and feels more susceptible to FOMO from the 24/7 recycled headlines of potential partnerships but at the same time they are already worth a third of TSMC while still burning billions and being a year or 2 from operational. Utilization and gross margins will remain questionable, apple seems to also want to only use them for lower end chips and market seems to not give a shit about any risk associated with their foundry anymore. As for AMD their IV only gone up like 5% this week vs intel 15% and they are starting to get pretty close to their Openai/Meta target that creates a 20% dilution but i remember seeing somewhere that about 80% of the shares unlock when the price hits 500 submitted by /u/AnaIyze [link] [comments]

Feel I need to admit this, if anything just to make myself feel better, so maybe I can then move on. In November of 2025 I sold my holding's of Intel for $37/share. I got assigned in a covered call trade and at the time I was happy about it. I made a little profit and figure Intel will always be where it was at. Then things happened. Then some really big things happened. As of close today it's at $124. I feel there are lessons to be learned here, just don't know what they are. 45K --> 109K in Intel

2026-05-07T20:47:03+00:00

109K in Intel" title="45K --> 109K in Intel" /> I remember buying my first Intel shares in 2021/2022, when it was a little over $50/share. I thought it was easy money because at this moment, there were tensions between Taiwan and China growing and Intel alresdy has plenty of fabs in the US to help chip designers potentially pivot to some domestic made chips. But that didnt happen, the company kept struggling with yields and wasnt innovating under Gelsinger, and then right before the US deal with Intel happened, I added more shares and it started taking off. The new CEO changed everything and 18A yields have started improving with new business being given to their foundries and CPU demand growing due to agentic AI. One of my other holds where it took 4 years to reverse into the green and I could've sold for a loss, but I didnt. I now have 1000 shares at an average price of ~$45 I hope this inspires people. submitted by /u/cowardbeater1969 [link] [comments]
